User Experience Design and Web Development for Duke Energy

As a user experience designer for Duke Energy, I was part of the team responsible for bringing their web presence into the modern age. With over 7 million customers relying on their website, it was important to create a new user experience that was not only visually appealing, but also responsive and easy to use. Through collaboration with Duke Energy's User Experience Team and trusted vendors, we were able to execute and bring to life a full end-to-end responsive web experience.

A new website bringing Duke Energy into the modern age

Significant work was done to overhaul the user experience of existing applications into a framework compatible with the new duke-energy.com. As a part of this effort, I played a key role in developing the design system, which standardized components across prototyping software and front-end development web libraries. I also served as the design lead for the Outage Reporting tools team, where I designed and implemented the outage reporting tools.

In addition to these efforts, I worked on various other aspects of the Duke Energy web products, including wireframes, front-end development, rapid prototypes, user flows, interface design, information architecture, usability testing, front-end frameworks, and features. I gained extensive experience in designing and building enterprise digital products and conducted extensive usability testing, which involved user interviews, usability prototypes, video recording, and data collection.

Overall, our team's efforts resulted in a responsive platform design that was visually appealing, easy to use, and scalable to meet the needs of Duke Energy's vast customer base.
